Saltfire ST1 Vision example installation in Osbourne Road Brighton BN1
This installation was in Osbourne Road BN1 in Brighton not far from
Fiveways.
The Saltfire ST1 Vision was chosen for its viewing window, efficiency, price and its DEFRA approval as Osbourne Road lies within
Brighton and Hove City Council's Smoke Control Area.
All the Saltfire ST range (except the ST4) are suitable for 12mm
hearths and the ST1 and ST1 Vision have a remarkable efficiency of
83.9%. Coming soon in August 2015 are the first coloured ST stoves and
the 7.5kW multi-fuel ST4.
The ST1 Vision is the same body as the ST1 but with a modified door
and larger window of 280 x 260mm (11 x 10¼").
An existing fireplace was removed and the fireback dug out. The
back hearth was repaired and Sean Wilson the
Brighton Chimney Sweep swept and pressure tested the flue. Shaun
Jenkins plastered and the customer selected the tiles.
The floor was cut open to facilitate a full tile width being used
and the recess decorated.
Stove installation took a long morning and was fired the same day.
With the total cost of stove and installation coming to
£1139 there
really is little excuse for not having a wood burner that can be
expected to cut your heating bill by a third and can be fuelled for
about
£88 per annum.
The ST1 Vision is
£829
supplied and fitted.
