Freestanding Stovax Riva 5 installed with Dinak DW twin wall chimney system on a 12mm glass hearth.

The Riva due to be certificated to put less than 100°C can be installed on superimposed hearth over combustible materials.

The chimney system was sprayed black externally but left stainless steel inside.

In an existing chimney recess a new brick hearth was built using Chailey brick seconds and lime mortar to achieve a suitably aged look. Bullnose corners were used to mirror the lines of the burner.

A very high efficiency (85.5%) Broseley eVolution 5 was installed with a 6" 316 liner.

The entire installation took three visits over two days. The opening previously had a gas fire installed.

The total cost of the installation with the demolition, burner, liner, hearth and labour came to £2065.

In an existing chimney recess with a suitable hearth a Grey Metal 5kW Cube burner in black was installed without a liner into a sound masonry chimney.

The Cube has an efficiency of 79% and is one of the best value multi-fuel stoves available.

The installation took an afternoon and total cost including the burner and the labour came to £685.

A freestanding Grey Metal Nero Lux burner installed on a 12mm glass super imposed hearth with a Dinak DW system chimney.

The Dinak chimney was sprayed to match the metallic grey of the burner and left stainless steel on the exterior.

The installation took place over one very long day with a brief return visit to finish a few cosmetic details.

In an existing recess a Charnwood Country Four in cream enamel was fitted onto a Wickes natural slate tiled hearth.

The masonry chimney remained unlined as it was demonstrated to be sound and smoke tight.
