FDC 5iW inset installation in Roundway, Coldean Brighton BN1
This installation was in Roundway, Coldean, Brighton, on the edge
of the downs.
The FDC 5iW was chosen for its appearance, efficiency (80%) and
output (5kW).
All the FDC inset stoves are Defra approved which means much less
smoke out the chimney and a more pleasing appearance when in use.
An existing fireplace was removed. The logstore recess was cutout
and lintels were put in to take the weight of the stove. Sean Wilson the
Brighton Chimney Sweep swept and pressure tested the flue. Due to
the age of the property (1930s) and light previous use the chimney
passed the pressure test and a traditional liner less installation was
possible.
Shaun
Jenkins plastered and rendered inside the logstore recess. The
customer commissioned a 12mm thick steel hearth and the installation
took two days.
Supply and fit the entire project came it at
£1632
inclusive of burner and labour.
